We are thoroughly grateful to the many volunteers who make the parish run. Without you, we could never accomplish any of our goals. We are thinking of those that are part of the various councils and committees, those who assist with religious education and youth, those that take up the parish collection each week, those who serve in the liturgy either as a lector, eucharistic minister, altar server, usher, or in music. I am also thinking of the office workers, the hospitality teams, event planners, facility maintenance, hospital and nursing home volunteers, festivals and events volunteers, evangelization outreach, etc.
Thank you for all you do.
The Archdiocese is asking every parish to have all volunteers meeting a set of requirements. Thank you for your cooperation with bein gcompliant with the Archdiocese requirments.
This is the summary of the 4 things required from all volunteers:
It is mandated by Massachusetts state law that all Parish staff and volunteers submit a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check each year to ensure the safety of children, youth, elderly, and the disabled. Since it is necessary for you to show a photo identification (license), CORI forms have to be filled out in person at the Parish Office or with a member of the Collaborative staff.
A completed CORI is required for all new volunteers before beginning service. CORI checks are repeated annually for all volunteers, usually in the spring. The form for the current year can be accessed via this link: CORI Form FY2023
To complete the form, your government-issued ID must be checked by a Parish employee. The staff person who coordinates your volunteer service may arrange a time for this, or you can come in to the parish office during regular business hours. Alternatively, you may bring your ID and the form to a Notary Public who will verify your identification and sign and seal the form, after which it can be returned to the parish office.
Please download and read the Code of Conduct for Volunteers. It is required that all Volunteers shall have read the Code carefully and understand what is expected of them in their respective roles with the Archdiocese of Boston.
